Where's your...

Annistyn has been learning new things every single day. It's amazing how quickly she is starting to pick up on things. Here is just a quick video of Annistyn showing you some of the things she has learned!

I Love Snow Days

We have gotten quite a bit of snow in the last few days. We have not gone to school since last Thursday, and it's not looking like we will go back til Tuesday. It's still January! I have a feeling it's going to be a long winter. Annistyn has not been out to play in the snow, but she has enjoyed getting to stay home with mommy and daddy! Annistyn and I have not left the house since last Saturday. We may try to get out tomorrow. Here are some pictures of Priss enjoying her snow days. Thanks Grandmama and Granddaddy for my "I Love Snow Days" shirt. It's very fitting for this winter. Also, thanks to my Nana and Pa for my blue jeans. Annistyn and I had a deep conversation as to why all the pictures on facebook are of children playing in the snow, but we were going to stay inside where it is nice and warm. This conversation didn't go over too well! ha! This is how she felt about that! Yesterday, while we were eating lunch, Annistyn watched Sesame Street. Mickey Mouse only comes on in the mornings, so we had to flip channels to find something appropriate for Priss to watch. You would think this would be easier during the day, but no. After Sesame Street, The Wiggles came on. This was Annistyn's first time to see The Wiggles, and she loved them! She on the floor and just watched, tapped her foot, and clapped her hands. I took a quick video with my phone. I know it's not very good quality, but I was too lazy to run upstairs to get the video camera.
Since Annistyn seemed to enjoy The Wiggles so much, we got to watch them again today after lunch. Today, she didn't just sit and move to the rhythm. She had to be front and center today. Again, bad video quality, but she stood in front of the TV and shook her leg and occasionally her little booty. She also would raise her hands in the air and clap. She is so funny!

Yes, Annistyn is wearing her footie pajamas in both pictures. We have been lazy during our snow days. Don't judge!

Annistyn has learned to climb up in her Minnie chair and turn around to sit down in it all on her own. This afternoon while she was playing on her Minnie chair, she was standing up jumping in it. I told her to stop jumping and sit on her bottom. While she was trying to turn around to sit down, she fell backwards off her chair. She cried for just a minute until her daddy gave her an entire deck of cards to play with! She's working her way to the World Series of Poker.

Let's Go Warriors!

After school today, Katy and I had to go to Tech to get everything straightened out so we can start working on our Ed.S. next week. It is such a pain to start a new degree at Tech! I went through the exact same thing when I started my Master's. I think we both got everything ready to start. If things go as planned, we will graduate with our Ed.S. degree in Early Childhood education in December.

After we went to Tech, I went to Karen's to pick up Priss. Karen, Lauren, and Emily had given her one of the girl's old cheerleading uniforms. It's still a little big on her, but it's so cute! Here she is ready to cheer on those Warriors and Warriorettes!

Night-Night

My Christmas vacation finally came to an end. It was very hard for me to have to get up and get ready this morning. I had to wake Annistyn up this morning too. We have gotten used to being lazy. It was really hard around 9 or 10 to not be able to take my morning nap!

Josh quit his traveling job and is back working in the corporate world at Averitt. He is doing his old job, but they only opening they had was on nights. I'm not complaining though, it is definitely better than him being in a different state 5 or 6 days out of every week. Annistyn and I are both so happy to have him back home! Last night was his first night back working in Cookeville. He got home this morning as I was getting up.

Tonight after Josh left, Annistyn sat at the basement door, knocking on it and yelling "Daddy!" Then, she would turn and look at me and just laugh. I took a picture with my phone (that's why it's very dark).

About 6:00, Annistyn crawled up in my lap, looked at me, and said, "Night-Night!" I guess she was ready for bed. So we went upstairs and got ready for bed. I put Annistyn in bed, and she was out!

13 Months and Tripp's Birthday Party

My sweeet Annistyn, you are 13 months old today! Time is going by too quickly! I want to just freeze time for a bit. You are at such a sweet stage. You keep us laughing constantly. You are becoming more expressive and have such an amazing personality. You are proving to be very stubborn and will do anything to try and get your way.

What are you up to these days?
  • You are wearing size 12 months clothes and size 3 shoes.
  • You wear size 3 diapers.
  • You weigh 21 lbs 13 oz and are 30 in. long.
  • You are still not walking, but you are crawling everywhere and pulling up.
  • You say mommy, daddy, bye bye, hi, eat, thank you, ho ho ho, and can bark like a dog.
  • If we ask you where your nose is, you stick your finger up your nose.
  • You are trying to climb on top of things. You have managed to get up a few steps and on top of your minnie chair a couple times.
  • You love to "love" on your babies and your Minnie Mouse.

Everyday, you are becoming more and more like a toddler, and less like a baby. It's sad in a way, but I love watching you grow each and every day! You have made me and your daddy happier than ever! We love you so much!

This afternoon, we went to Tripp's 5th birthday party. He had a Predators hockey party at the high school gym. Annistyn was wanting to be able to run around with all the other kids. Here are some pictures from the big day.

2011

My parents went to Memphis on New Year's Eve for my cousin Chris's wedding. After the wedding, they spent the weekend in Tunica. Since they were out of town, Katy, Dave, and the boys were staying at their house to keep Belle.

They had a little NYE party at mom and dad's. We joined them for some fun. I have no pictures from the night, but we spent the night playing games. We had so much fun. Annistyn could tell we were all having fun, so she decided to stay awake to ring in the new year. I put her in her bed several times, but she refused to go to sleep. We spend New Year's day being lazy!

This morning, we were glad to be able to go back to church. We didn't go last Sunday, because we thought Annistyn had the chicken pox and didn't want to infect anyone else. Now, I'm really glad we didn't go and spread her scabies to anyone.

Here are some pictures of Priss after church.

Scabies?

So, Christmas Eve, we noticed Annistyn was getting a rash. We believed it was the chicken pox. She had just received her chicken pox vaccination a couple weeks before. They had told us that if she got a rash in the next couple weeks it is a mild case of the chicken pox from the vaccine. We just assumed we were that 1% that got this from the vaccine. After a week of Annistyn being itchy and not too happy, we finally went back to the doctor.

We actually went to a new doctor for this visit, and we love Dr. Treece. She is awesome! She did tell us that Annistyn did NOT have the chicken pox! She has scabies! CRAZY!

For those of you who don't know what scabies is, it is very similar to lice. Scabies is when little, tiny mites get embedded in your skin. This causes an allergic-type reaction all over your body. These mites are actually so tiny, that you can't see them.

We got a cream to treat it, and we have to treat the entire family just in case. So we all rubbed each other down with the cream from head to toe in order to kill any mites. We also had to wash everything we have been in contact with in hot water and bag up things that cannot be washed. This required several loads of laundry for all our clothes, towels, bedding, carseat cover, high chair cover, etc.! We also bought a can of RID lice killing spray to spray down the mattresses, couches, and chairs. It was a very busy day, to say the least. Oh yeah, and did I mention we have to repeat this entire process in 10 days! Fun times in the Lowery house!

You can't see the rash in these pictures very well, but they are all I have.
