Merry Christmas

Even though this is Annistyn's 2nd Christmas, in many ways, I feel like it's her first. She was just 3 weeks old last Christmas and slept through most of it. We were very excited going into this holiday season and being able to watch her with all the excitement.

Santa sent Annistyn a little message. Click here to watch it.

Corrie and the kids came up on Wednesday. All the kids LOVE Alex!

We had a crazy few days. On Dec. 23, Corrie and Katy's families, and Josh, Annistyn, and I all went to my parent's house to let the kids open presents from grandmama and granddaddy.

Annistyn was more impressed with the boxes and Grandmama's big bag!

Christmas Eve morning, we went to Grandmama and Granddaddy's house for the Haston family brunch. Here are a few pictures from brunch.

After resting up from brunch, the England side of my family all go to Pet and Granddaddy's for dinner and crazy Christmas fun!

The kids all open their presents first. For 2 reasons: 1. They can barely control their excitement! 2. It gives them something to do while the adults open their presents.

The kids all got Titans shirts signed by Cortland Finnegan. Go #31!

Aunt Lori and Uncle Tom were VERY excited about the Cortland shirts!

Finally the adults open all of their presents.

Josh and I got the coolest gift from Pet and Granddaddy. It is a picture of Annistyn printed onto a piece of metal. It is so cool to look at in person, especially the way the light reflects off of it.

For Granddaddy's gift, everybody always does an act of kindness for someone else and write him a letter about it. I cry with every letter he reads.

Somebody please remind me next year not to sit by the CRAZIES! What was I thinking?

Okay, hang in there! Christmas is almost over! After the madness at Pet and Granddaddy's, Katy, Corrie, myself, and our families all go to mom and dad's to spend the night. Santa always comes to see all the kids Christmas morning, and this year, he didn't disappoint.

After seeing what all Santa brought, Josh, Annistyn, and I went home to rest a bit before we finish out Christmas. We went to Josh's Uncle George's cabin for lunch, and then came home for a nap. After our nap, we went to John's house for Christmas with the Lowerys.

That last picture is Josh with sweet Ella Kate! She is so big already. She's going to catch up to Annistyn soon!

Finally, we all came home and crashed! We are extremely blessed, but Christmased out! Yes, I made up a word, "Christmased!"

Snow Days

Saturday night, Annistyn and I drove to Nashville to go to a Christmas party with some of my Nashville friends and Carrie and Adam's. Before we left, I decided to finally change out Annistyn's carseats. I installed her new carseat and took out the infant carrier.

Annistyn got to spend a little time playing with Garrett, before she had to go to bed.

After the party, we went to spend the night at Corrie and Eric's. Sunday after church, we went to Kayli's birthday party at JumpZone! We had so much fun.

While we were at the party, it started snowing quite a bit. Katy and the boys were riding back with us, and we decided we better head on back home. I'm so glad we left when we did...it took us 4 hours to get home (usually 1 and half hour trip).

Yesterday was a snow day, so Annistyn and I had a lazy day. We both stayed in our pajamas and didn't leave the house all day. Annistyn got to enjoy some of her new toys she got for her birthday. She loves her new rocking horse from her Aunt Katy, Uncle Dave, Tripp, and Tucker.

Last night, Annistyn and I snuggled up in my chair and watched a little TV.

Annistyn woke up this morning with some crazy hair!

We were out of school again today. Annistyn and I spent most of the day making room for some of her new toys. Sorry daddy...we have taken over your man cave!

Annistyn tried to help me with her laundry tonight. Then, she tried to put her shirts on by herself! She is such a mess!

1 Year Old

Today you are 1 one year old! The day before you were born, your daddy and I had gone to Cookeville for my appointment with Dr. Casal. Since you hadn't come yet, we knew he would be setting a date to induce. We didn't know that he was going to say go to the hospital tonight! Needless to say, we weren't quite ready. We had to rush back home, grab a bite to eat, and pack! Dr. Casal told me I shouldn't eat anything, but knew I would be starving, so I ate a plain grilled chicken wrap from Sonic. We were supposed to be at the hospital at 6:00, but we were a little late. Your daddy drove extremely SLOW! He has never driven slow in his life! We finally made it to the hospital around 6:30.

It was a very long night! There wasn't much sleeping going on. Your Aunt Katy and Aunt Corrie stayed until the wee hours of the morning. When we knew you wouldn't be coming until the next day, they went home for a little rest. Our night was filled with loud beeping machines and nurses coming in and out just to check on you.

The next morning, you had lots of visitors. Aunt Katy and Aunt Corrie came back, along with Grandmama, Granddaddy, Nana, Pa, and "Uncle Justin". Things went very quickly and much easier than I ever imagined. You finally arrived at 12:38 weighing 7lbs 4 oz.

We love you more than you can ever imagine!

Here are my attempts to get pictures with Annistyn and a sign saying she is 12 months old. I don't think you can actually see the sign in any of the pictures.

Annistyn, what are you up to these days?

  • You wear size 12 months clothes and size 3 shoes.

  • You wear a size 3 diaper.

  • You weigh 22.2 pounds.

  • You are still not walking, but crawling all over the place and pulling up.

  • You can say mama, daddy, bye bye, hi, eat, and ho, ho, ho! You are try to copy what everyone else says.
  • You can wave, clap, play peek-a-boo, blow kisses, and when someone asks you where your pretty eyes are, you will blink them. Your Mama Karen and Papa Tim taught you that trick, and it is so cute.
  • You are eating just about everything. You also no longer drink from a bottle.
  • You have to have your lovey and paci when you go to sleep.
  • You usually take 2 naps a day and sleep about 12-13 hours each night.
  • You are getting to be such a big girl and are extremely happy! We pray that you continue to be happy and healthy!
